10 Worst Actors of All-Time

20 Jul

First off i need you all to understand this is a completely biased, unfounded, and subjective look at these actors…this is all in good fun and I would never assume I could do a better job than them…but there are plenty of animals out there that are doing a better job than them…and would make for a much more interesting flick…Kung Fu Panda anyone!?

Rules:

Comedians (Chris Rock and Dane Cooke) not included because they are only invited to roles due to their stand-up routines. Yes they are terrible actors, but the real criminals are the producers here.

Athletes (Shaq and Arnold and the dreadful Steve Austin) are exempt because they are only there for their athletic fame and prowess. They aren’t actors.

Musicians- this seems to apply more to rappers than rockers (Ice T and 50 Cent) but occasionally pop stars (Madonna and Prince) seem to get it right more so than the others…but still are exempt from this list regardless of their pitiful performances.

And Awaaaaay Weeee Goooo!

#10 Ben Affleck:

Where to begin…With Ben Affleck riding his creative coattails, Matt Damon seemed to be immune to BA’s anti-genius. Even though starring in blockbusters like Paycheck and Gigli with legitimate actors/actresses he didn’t pick up anything of value. The fact he keeps getting jobs is as astounding as his lip-less face.

#9  Keanu Reeves:

After breaking out is some surfing flick, Keanu has left the beach. Although his career should be washed up like loose seaweed, he still lands jobs as emotionless non-humans (and those are just the romantic comedies) One day he will star in a movie as an alien and the world will be astounded at his performance, due to the fact he is an alien…then the mothership sent to pick him up will crash onto a beach somewhere to a subtle “Whoa!” from Keanu…and when he goes home…the movie world will rejoice.

#8  Vin Diesel:

I don’t know where this guy came from, but he needs to return. I am happy to report there hasn’t been a Vin sighting in a few years. Hopefully the Chronicles of Riddick-ulous was his final attempt at fooling the world into thinking he is a real actor.

#7 John Wayne:

Many will bemoan this pick, including my mother. Taking an honest look at his movies I can’t help but laugh. I now understand that he never once knew he was in a movie. The Duke must have thought that every western and war movie was really happening around him. Its sad to watch a man in his acting prime battle with senility.

#6 Sylvester Stallone:

Rocky hit a home run and his reprisal in Rocky Balboa…but he pushed his luck over the cliff onto an exploding car full of Laotians with Rambo. Not to mention his impressive string of mega flops Stop of My Mom Will Shoot and Cliffhanger.  Sorry Sly…the world is just no longer in need of a muscle bound actors with limited communication abilities…We need them to be governors!

#5 Burt/Ryan Reynolds:

these two would top the list for the worst acting families just above the lowly acting Douglass’s (Kirk and Michael) Burt has passed on his uncanny ability to choose the worst roles and play them as terribly as they are written. Ryan could occasionally cause a smile or two with his sarcasm…but causes many more tears than smiles.  Every role for Ryan is like watching the Amittyville Horror actually happen!

#4 Nicolas Cage:

This is a risky pick. He is a noteworthy actor in Hollywood and has played some interesting characters that he butchered into seemingly non-existence. Ghost Rider should be exorcised and gone in 60 seconds was a cruel joke that lasted more than 60 seconds. The cinematic blunder that is Nick Cage (which is a much cooler moniker)is continuing his not-hot streak with not-promising sequels.  He just couldn’t leave an ok movie alone…he had to recreate it…next he will recreate Con Air…that is how the world will end!

#3 Jean-Claude Van Damme-

the next to worst martial arts actor of all time. I applaud his curious attempt at the English language, but what I cannot applaud is his endless barrage of straight-to-VHS bombs.  Come on, there isn’t much to say…this one is easy!

#2 Steven Segal:

This guy’s acting is absolutely horrible.  the reason he makes this list and the beloved Chuck Norris doesn’t is that CN actually appeared in a Bruce Lee flick. I have seen better acting from non-English speaking martial artists (Jet Li/Jackie Chan/Heck…even Chris Tucker who was a consideration for this list)

And the #1 Worst Actor of All-Time…drumroll…

Ben Stiller:

He tops the list…I understand this is completely subjective and biased…but he is a terrible actor. My heart and stomach switch places every time I see him ruin a funny movie. He is completely spastic and about as believable as a 3 year old with chocolate on his mouth claiming the cookies were stolen! I don’t think I could explain it well enough, but he never should have Met the Parents…in the heartbreak kid…he did exactly that. He even ruined a great moment in an awesome movie by playing a stupid Hispanic anchorman!! He haunts my movie dreams!!

Oh my, Ward, how I love thee. So true…so true…

  2. Richard Calhoun July 23, 2008 at 8:38 PM #

You know Chistopher Walken deserves honorable mention. He is such a cool guy but he couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag. Watching him on SNL the other night proved that to me.

    • Joe June 9, 2009 at 10:04 PM #

You obviously have never seen “The Deer Hunter” (1978).

    • Ish July 12, 2010 at 4:30 PM #

Since when does SNL require acting???? moron

    • T September 8, 2010 at 11:32 AM #

He is great when the roles a suited for him. Watch “At Close Range,” that was amazing acting!!

  3. tornrain July 23, 2008 at 11:13 PM #

OK…so you can’t bash Jean Claude because he merely makes bad movies to show off his amazingly awesome moves.

And I agree with you on Steven Segal with the exception of Under Siege 1.

Obviously you didn’t see The Replacements and Lake House for the Reeves.

And well, Sylvester Stallone was pretty cool in Tango and Cash.

And Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee will always own! :-P

    My opinion of course. ;-)

  4. tornrain July 23, 2008 at 11:15 PM #

And on a side note for musicians as actors…I must admit that Andre 3000 did an awesome job in Four Brothers.

  5. abrammajor July 24, 2008 at 6:45 PM #

I completely agree with you on like 99% of this list. I was a little sketcky on Nick Cage, because he is some good movies. But he an be kind of annoying. I can’t stand Ben Stiller movies.

    • Steve K. July 31, 2009 at 1:54 AM #

Well, if there are only 10 names listed it’s pretty much mathematically impossible to agree with 99% of the list. Duh!

    • iggy May 3, 2011 at 10:41 AM #

nick cage, much like reeves, shows one emotion and one emotion only! i actually kind of like stiller, zoolander was a great movie.

  6. maddoggirl23 August 3, 2008 at 7:08 PM #

I agree with you on most of these too!! I hate Nicholas Cage & Steven Segal! I think someone else should definitely be on the list….and that would be…..Will Ferrell!!

  7. HinceHick June 4, 2009 at 3:23 AM #

you are so retarded. the first of half of the list is good (10-5), i agree with those, with the exception of ryan reynolds who i figured out does have a sense of good comedy and humor in the movie Waiting, but thats my opinion. but the rest of the movie is bullshit. you suck at life in movies, just go kill yourself kid. ok your right about steven segal, he sucks and so does keanu reeves.

but the 2 i couldnt understand from this list are nicolas cage and ben stiller. nicolas cage has some pretty kick ass movies and though he might not be the best actor, he still has the “actors flick.” but ben stiller?!?? are you stupid?? ben stiller is in the all time comedy A-list. you dont trash him. the #1 should’ve been Keany Reeves because that guy has no emotions. AGAIN…YOU FAIL BY PUTTING BEN STILLER AS #1….YOU FAIL.

    • idontcare July 3, 2010 at 5:10 AM #

just because you disagree doesnt mean you should be telling ANYONE to go kill themselves. That is just a rude and ignorant disrespect of someone else’s opinion.

    • Mike September 17, 2010 at 7:41 PM #

      I COMPLETELY AGREE, FAIL.

    • iggy May 3, 2011 at 10:43 AM #

you. are. awesome. haha that is exactly how i would have put it with reeves at the top, but i think nick cage has good movies, but he has the same problem as reeves, no freakin emotions. i love stiller

  8. Swirls June 9, 2009 at 12:54 AM #

How is will ferrel not on this list??
scratch that he should BE the list

  9. Joe June 9, 2009 at 10:08 PM #

I know Cage gets a lot of flack for a few bad choices but get with it.

His roles in Adaptation, Leaving Las Vegas, Vampire’s Kiss, Matchstick Men, The Weather Man, The Family Man, Red Rock West, and Moonstruck are sensational.

If you’re going to make a list like this, at least know what you’re talking about.

    • iggy May 3, 2011 at 10:45 AM #

dude, movies dnt matter, its how he acts in them, his face doesn move

  10. Ja July 3, 2009 at 4:43 AM #

    this list is garbage

  11. jfizzle July 8, 2009 at 8:31 AM #

burt/ryan reynolds? is that a joke? you realize they aren’t related… plus, you forgot john travolta.

  12. Michael July 20, 2009 at 3:55 AM #

dude burt reynolds and ryan reynolds arent related..

  13. Mr. X July 26, 2009 at 11:50 PM #

I completely disagree with all of it exceppt for kinda sylvester stallone some of his movies are good(Will Ferrell should be on the list)

  14. RJMac August 29, 2009 at 9:22 AM #

Sorry, have to disagree with you on John Wayne. Granted, he starred in a few duds, but overall he was good, even if the same formula was used time & again. Somehow, it seemed to work with him.

Now, if you want to add “comedians”, may I recommend Tom Green. Bad acting skills, worse roles, extremely sucky movies geared for the lowest common demoninator- and still missing the mark by diving even lower. This guy shoulda never had 15 SECONDS, let alone 15 minutes.

  15. Chris October 10, 2009 at 3:53 AM #

To quote so many others here… “Why is Will Farrell not on this list” And to add to that, what about John C. Reilly? (Step Brothers, Walk Hard)… Even Jon Heder should top above Nick Cage. I can agree with a lot of your list, but think you’re missing way too many bad actors to put in classics like Cage and Wayne… And Vin is learning. He started really bad, but is slowly, slowly, learning how to act.

  16. jonward January 5, 2010 at 1:55 AM #

the fact it means that much to you to write this much about it with this much anger… says way more about the sad state of your life. I am sorry you are this desperate to prove your worth…There is more to live for than to get so worked up over a blog written as a joke on a whim. I hope you find some meaning.

  17. julie January 8, 2010 at 1:51 AM #

You’re funny. This list is pretty terrible… just not sure what your parameters for “worst” are. But, you did say this is subjective, so that is cool that you acknowledge that!! It’s your opinion, and interesting to read.

  18. julie January 8, 2010 at 1:54 AM #

BTW – to anyone out there!! I think the worst actor of all time is Clint Eastwood!! Tell me I’m wrong. He should stick to directing!

  19. Chrisg February 6, 2010 at 3:00 AM #

You forgot Bill Paxton. He is an absolute mess. Twister would have been awesome if it wasnt for that idiot and his sidekick Helen (the worst actress) Hunt.

  20. Buddha February 7, 2010 at 12:53 AM #

Disagree with Ben Stiller.. he has not really had a serious role. All his movies are built around his humor.. If you do not like it then you obv. will not like him. I admire how he can say comments and let other people take the extremely funny parts in scenes and also his role of always being put in the worst situations makes me laugh every time.

Anyways.. I really think Keannu should top this list. Acting really is about expression and the guys scared face bares no difference from his happy face.. He does play an alien in the day the earth stood still — and that movie probably made the ” top 10 movies people walked out on ” list.

  21. Jim in Hollywood February 7, 2010 at 6:00 PM #

Unfortunately, not a lot of people know good acting from bad acting. Most are content to have a few good explosions and diversions for bad actors and scripts. It would be more interesting to put together a list of best actors, since they are few and far between

  22. Jim in Hollywood February 7, 2010 at 6:04 PM #

The other thing I get from these comments is that it doesn’t take much to impress young kids…..

  23. TD in Mass. March 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM #

You forgot Stephen Baldwin….Yikes is he bad !

  24. MACHOMAN March 30, 2010 at 6:12 AM #

obviously you haven’t seen J.C.V.D, Time magazine quoted on Van Damme’s performance saying, “HE DESERVES NOT A BLACK BELT, BUT AN OSCAR.

Sylvester Stallone did a great job on Rocky and First Blood

    Nicholas Cage won an oscar

Ryan Reynolds is a pretty decent actor

  25. Tom A. April 7, 2010 at 4:17 PM #

    really??? Ben Stiller??? epic FAILURE…sorry…

  26. curt simpkins May 20, 2010 at 11:44 AM #

Will Farrell is absolutely the worst actor of all time! Adam Sandler is a close second. Billy Crystal should be here also, he made a “career” out of saying “You look ‘Mah’ velous.” Terrible!

  27. mattvolke May 30, 2010 at 2:44 PM #

I posted a top 5 worst actors on my site themoviebros.wordpress.com

    Check it out.

  28. doggeydump June 6, 2010 at 5:16 PM #

well this is not a bad list but not a really good one either. i can think or worse actors and ben is deff not the worst. how bout jake gylanhall.(i know i misspelled that) how bout the rock? he is possibly the worst anything ever.

  29. drunkonmyego August 4, 2010 at 4:59 PM #

Well if you’re doing all these action movie stars, you really can’t leave Arnold off this list. Honestly though those type of actors are an easy target. No one watches a Segal movie for the acting. I disagree with Ryan Reynolds only because Waiting is one of my favorite movies and you’re right about Ben Stiller. Tropic Thunder was a great movie and all the actors had amazing little moments except him.

  30. mike August 17, 2010 at 7:44 PM #

    No Rob Schiender? For shame.

    • Arnold Ziffel October 27, 2010 at 9:13 AM #

You left out Owen Wilson and the greatest over acting actor ever, William Shatner.

  31. Sam September 17, 2010 at 11:56 AM #

This was a ridiculous post. 6 out of the ten you posted are true. They are definitely in the wrong order even. Two of the ones you chose are actually great actors. Ben stiller has prestine comical timing, and Nicholas cage has conquered every role given him.

  32. Greg December 25, 2010 at 5:01 PM #

Probably the worst list of all time, not one woman on there, i can think of 50 actors worse then the ones listed here, you’re a fucking retard, munch a bag of dicks pal

  33. Ashel January 3, 2011 at 9:39 PM #

It’s all based on what you are thinking, isn’t it. Mine is different of course.

  34. Charlie January 11, 2011 at 11:21 PM #

i agree in almost everything but…. Ben stiller? really? he is a good actor he make some bad movies but he shouldnt be in the list. And you forget Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider.

  35. Steven February 3, 2011 at 11:26 AM #

Why is John Travolta not on this list. I mean aside from Pulp Fiction. Nicholas Cage + John Travolta in “Face Off” = Possibly the worst acting ever combined. The thought of watching that movie makes we want to fight the both of them…

  36. Michaela April 22, 2011 at 6:55 AM #

I can’t stand Ben Stiller’s and Adam Sandler’s movies, but for their genre, I think they do a good job. Totally agree about Keanu, but I did like The Lake House (though, not his acting and continual impassive expression). I think The Rock is an awesome comedic actor. I haven’t seen him in serious stuff. Stallone – well, while I like a couple of his movies, I do find him painful to watch. I disagree about Nicolas Cage.

How about your top ten best actors? In no particular order, for me, I’d say:
Matt Damon, Edward Norton, Morgan Freeman, Sam Shepherd, Tom Cruise (this one is strictly for acting – I find him thoroughly unlikable in interviews, etc), Mark Wahlberg, Sean Penn, Charlize Theron, Sandra Bullock (was awesome in Blindside), Julia Roberts. Would love to read other people’s lists of best actors.

  37. jisaac3 May 2, 2011 at 12:19 AM #

some athletes can act I.E. ray allen in “he got game”

  38. iggy May 3, 2011 at 10:46 AM #

people, its not about the movies, its about the ACTORS. thts y its the top ten WORST ACTORS!!!! get with it
